March flew by for me. That may have to do with the fact that I was laid up with bronchitis for most of it and life seems to pass in a haze of coughing.
And now for what you are waiting for – books read! As always, highlighted titles connect back to my reviews.
- The Accident by Chris Pavone
- Sacred Mountain by Robert Ferguson
- The Beauty of Humanity Movement by Camilla Gibb
- The Heart Broke in by James Meek
- Mount Pleasant by Don Gilmore
- The Ever After of Ashwin Rao by Padma Viswanathan
- Visible City by Tova Mirvis
- Listen to the Squawking Chicken by Elaine Lui
- Bad Teeth by Dustin Long
- The House at the End of Hope Street by Menna Van Praag
Other books reviewed in March include:
- Shotgun Lovesongs by Nickolas Butler
- A Spear of Summer Grass by Deanna Raybourn
- Capital by John Lanchester
- The Muslims Are Coming by Arun Kundnani
And onto April where I will be continuing with the Spring Reading Thing.
I hope you’re feeling better! You are certainly getting a lot of reading done- great list of books!
Seems like bronchitis is getting everyone! I’ve had 2 co-workers come down with the same. But I don’t think they spent their time laid up as productively. Hope you are feeling better. Am dying to know what you thought of Listen to the Squawking Chicken! Got an email from Chapters today that the book has been shipped!
I was pleasantly surprised by Squawking Chicken. I’m not a Lui fan particularly, but it gives some insight into her life, but more into the culture of Chinese Canadians. It was funny, insightful and poignant.
I’m totally envious of your awesome March reading. With ALL the things going on, I only completed four books. But April will be a killer month. I can feel it!
But you got married. That’s gotta count for something.
You had a great month. I’m reading The Ever After of Ashwin Rao right now. And I got The Accident from the library after reading your review. Here’s to April!
I can’t wait to see what you thought of Ashwin Rao. i’m so close to it that it was hard for me to evaluate fairly.
Nice to see you using PicMonkey, looks great. Also looks like you had a good month
March seemed to fly by for me too. I can’t believe it’s going to be April 1 tomorrow! Looks like you had a great month.
A great reading month, I’m sure! Congratulations! I read The House at the End of Hope Street by Menna Van Praag in March too. I’m off to read your review of Visible City. I’ve been seeing it around and I’m attracted to that cover 🙂 Here’s to more books in April!
Wow, you read a ton! And of your books I’ve only heard of The Accident.
I’m kind of going through an obsession like period of book reading at the moment. It will slow down at some point.
I haven’t read any of your March reads, but I’d love to hear about ‘Listen to the Squawking Chicken’ – what a fabulous title!
Dude, you’re a reading machine! -Tania
I want to read Visible City, I’ve been curious about that one.
You had a much more productive reading month than myself. I could barely make myself read more than 10-20 pages here or there. So ready to rock this Spring with all the books.
Wow, I haven’t read any of those books!!! Good work for March! 😀
