Yes, I know, things have been quiet around here at 52 Books or Bust. Not only has my reading slowed down, but my reviewing has ground to a resounding halt. But I intend to remedy that this weekend by participating in the Write On Review-a-Thon hosted by Brianna at The Book Vixen.
The Write On review-a-thon is a monthly event created and hosted by Brianna at The Book Vixen. It’s 2 days dedicated to getting reviews done, whether you have one review to write or 30+. This edition of the review-a-thon takes place all day Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th. Let’s get those reviews done!
If all works out as planned, here’s what you can look forward to in the coming weeks:
Oh look forward to Burial Rites. I had a weird reaction to that book.
I’m not sure I liked Burial Rites. Everyone raved about it, but i didn’t like it too much until near the end.
Loved Florence Gordon. I’m calling her this decade’s Olive Kitteridge.
I never read Olive Kitteridge, but now I think I’ll have to!
Glad you’re joining us for the Review-a-thon! Good luck!
You’d have more time to read if you were living in southern Ontario right now. With our extreme low temperatures, there’s not much else to do!
Right on Linda! We’re further down in Southwestern Ontario but agreed! Can’t complain too much about the reading being done – but the cabin fever is really settling in! Longing for Spring! (And cannot wait to read your reviews Tanya!)
Linda, I hate to tell you that all the snowdrops and crocuses are up here. But that’s typical for February.
Good luck! I can’t wait for your review of Burial Rites.
Good luck with the review-a-thon! I’m very behind with my reviews at the moment too. I’ll look forward to your thoughts on Burial Rites – I liked it, but not as much as I’d hoped to.
Hint: I wasn’t it’s biggest fan.
I wish I could join in this weekend, because I’m way behind on reviews, but it’ll have to wait until I get a paper submitted this Sunday. I hope you get a lot done this weekend and I look forward to reading your reviews 🙂
Hope you get your paper submitted. At least we will both be huddled over a computer to keep us warm.
Good luck with your reviews! I hope you’re able to get them all done 🙂
I should totally do this. Blerg, lol. My review writing it at a standstill as well. I did publish 2 recently but before that it’d been forever!
Good luck!
Could it be a mid winter lull?
I’m joining many people in saying I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Burial Rites! I feel like it’s a book that I should read, but haven’t got to yet…
Now I’m going to feel all self conscious about writing it. Most of the time i figure the only person reading my blog is my mom, and even then I’m not sure.
I hope you had a great writing weekend. I can’t wait to hear about the book on walking — I’ve been making it a priority to get my steps in each day and so I’m thinking a lot about walking and accessibility and those issues.
It’s really great, though i should admit that i love walking & know the author, so i’m not impartial.
Hope the review-a-thon was a success 🙂 Looking forward to reading your thoughts on these books 🙂
