I wasn’t going to participate in Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon but the peer pressure (and bad weather) have gotten to me. I’m going to do it, and I’m not alone. For the first time ever, my daughter will participating as well. And we will be reading to raise money for a new playground at her school.
Sophia will be focusing on a tome of a book, Opal Plumstead by Jacqueline Wilson (520 pages!!).
My list of potential books includes:
As we are reading for charity, we will raise 10p per page, to a maximum of £20 to go to Sciennes Primary School Playground Improvement.
Good luck to you and your daughter, Tanya
So glad you’re joining in! And how fun that you’re daughter is joining, too. I’m really excited to see what you think of Station Eleven.
I can’t believe how excited my daughter is about it. Should be fun.
What a great thing to do with your daughter! I can only hope and pray that my daughter will want to do something like this with me when she’s older (she’s 2 now)!
Six months ago there is no way my kid would have done it. I’m excited to see how it works out.
Good luck to both of you! I hope you enjoy Station Eleven too. It was one of my favorite books last year.
Station 11 seems like a natural Readathon choice since everyone has liked it and it’s a page turner.
I love that your daughter is joining you – have fun!
I hope you two have fun reading. I just finished The River’s Song and really liked it.
I’ve already started The River’s Song and I’m really enjoying it. Glad to hear I’m not alone.
At 520 pages, that has got to be the longest kid’s book I’ve ever seen. I hope she sticks with it! How old is she, Tanya?
I know! It’s a big book, but by an author she adores.
I’m glad you’re joining, and that your daughter gets to participate too. I read Station Eleven last year and it was super awesome. I just fell into the book in the early afternoon and didn’t look up until after dinner.
It’s so great your daughter is joining you! I hope you enjoy Station Eleven – it’s so great!
Station Eleven is a fabulous book — good choice. Best of luck with your reading/fundraising!
Have fun with the readathon! I hope you enjoy Station Eleven 🙂
