For Today I Am A Boy is a debut novel by Canadian writer Kim Fu. So far I have seen three different covers for it. One I’m immediately drawn to, the other two maybe. The novel is available in Canada and Australia and will be out in the United States next week.
I really wish I could see them all in person, because I think they’re all stunning on the screen…but I know that the American version is even more gorgeous than that when it’s in your hands. All of the letters are almost cut out with clear vellum and the colors underneath, it’s so pretty. The picture I took doesn’t even do it justice: http://instagram.com/p/isPLo5NnPy/
The colors on the American one just draw me in. And it looks like it has great texture, but you already know that.
I voted for the third one. I am a sucker for details and faces on the cover of books.
Cover three? That’s the one that seems to be winning right now. I though cover 1 would win hands down.
I’m going with the US cover because that’s the one I have a copy of! 😛
It seems like all three covers show different aspects of the story. I prefer the Australian cover.
have you read it? I haven’t yet. I don’t think i’d pick up the Australian one though. It’s interesting to see how everyone is reacting.
I haven’t read it yet but I did read a few in-depth reviews on it.
I’m in Canada so I’ve mostly seen Cover 2. I was attracted to the Australian cover because it’s so artistic, but Cover 2 just seems more true to the story. Have you read the book? I might add it to this year’s list.
I haven’t read it yet, though it is a must read for me. Most people seem to like the Australian cover, but I am all for the American one.
I was torn between the U.S. cover and the Australian cover. I wonder if my feelings will change once I read it? Thanks for linking up!
The Canadian cover seems rather depressing to me. I hope to read it soon and we’ll see how that changes things.
